Basic Training consists of the following:

Part 1:
Weekend 1 (3 days)
5 hours of supervision

Part 2:
Weekend 2 (3 days)
5 hours of supervision

All parts of Basic Training must be completed within 3 years. Please see further details below.

Weekend 1 – Eligibility requirements 

This is a highly specialized therapy that requires supervised training for therapeutic effectiveness and client safety. A clinical background is necessary for the proper application of the EMDR therapy. Candidates must have:

  1. A) 4-year Basic Degree in Psychology, Counselling, or Social Work, OR 2-year Master’s Degree in Psychiatry, Psychology, Counselling or Social Work; and
    B) Minimum 2 years of full-time supervised clinical experience or full membership/registered psychologist with SPS; ordinary membership/RSW with SASW; CMSAC/RC with SAC; and
    C) Current clinical practice and documentation are to be submitted via the registration links.

Eligibility requirements

    1. A) Completed Weekend 1 training
      B) 5 hours’ supervision with approved consultations to be completed 1 month before the start of Weekend 2.

Cost: SGD1600 for the 3-day Training (Includes EMDR Institute Manual and 2 tea breaks)

The training is scheduled to be held on-site. Participants will be expected to attend the full training at the training venue where facilitators will provide supervised practice for the practicum component.

Registration is confirmed upon payment. Please note that there is no refund of payment for withdrawal from training unless it is cancelled if the minimum class size is not attained.
